Good FriYAHHday 10th April

Good Morning Year 5 and 6 - see you at 8.45am.


Don't forget you have your zoom for Malay and Mandarin at 8.15am and your tasks to complete that are on seesaw. You also have your Music lesson from Mrs Smith in Bandar ISB, please send me your work on Seesaw, not Mrs Smith. 

Literacy

Spelling test at 10.00am.  All come to my zoom class then I will put you into break out rooms with a teacher. Please come prepared with a pen/pencil and a different colour to mark it with.

Up-level sentence

Circles - describe in detail: a classroom full of children 
(use these words to help you: chatter, giggling, stern, playing, enjoying)

Triangles - Describe in detail: singing assembly 
(use these words to help you: beautiful sounds, dulcet tones, melodies, low and high pitched voices)

Squares - Describe in detail: birds feeding at a bird table 
(use these words to help you: pecking, beaks tapping at the seeds, clinging onto hanging bird-feeders)

Maths tasks
WALT - to use and apply skills to find create areas and perimeters.

You all have the same maths task to do, but you can challenge yourself with your own creativity. Have a go at both the Explore and Game (level 6 is really hard, as you have to think about your fractions as well but some of your minecrafters will be fabulous at this).
Have fun and share your amazing pictures. 

Challenge - measure the area and perimeter of 5 items in your house - take a photograph of the items, post a picture on seesaw then add in your Area and Perimeter amounts. 


READING

PLEASE CONTINUE READING FROREAD THEORY OR OXFORD OWL , FOR 30 MINUTES EVERYDAY BUT YOU DO NOT NEED TO SEND IT TO ME. I WANT YOU TO CONCENTRATE OUR GUIDED READING SESSIONS ON THE LETTERS FROM THE LIGHTHOUSE PLEASE. 

Guided Reading

Our class Reading book is Letters from the Lighthouse by Emma Carroll, which fits in very nicely for our WWII topic.  

So you have a week to complete these tasks


You are only to do chapter 1 - Keep calm and carry on.


I expect all of the comprehension questions to be completed by the end of the week.
